Flip Flops and toe socks???

I was approached by my good friend and neighbor, about a month ago, and was asked to create a birthday invitation for her daughter’s birthday. I said no problem, just give me some specifics and we will see what we can do. She looked at me and said “it’s a swim party, with rainbows and orange”. I have to admit I walked away and kept asking myself, “how in the heck do I combine those things for a five year olds birthday”.

Needless to say, I went through  a number of different ideas in my head, and then one night during a dream it came to me. Her daughter hardly ever wears shoes, and when she does it is either flip flops or her pink cowboy boots that light up. I don’t know why it took me so long to figure it all out.
This was my first time creating for someone else, and was lucky to only have to create a limited amount of cards. I was also lucky enough to have a wonderful fiancé to help in the creation. He cut out the flip flips and over lays and I stuck everything on the cards. Overall, I think that they came out  pretty dang cute.
